today, my beloved bicycle was stolen. i rode it to work, and when i came out to go home it was gone. someone had cut the "uncuttable" links of my kryptonite chain between 425 and 930 am.
i feel violated.
it wasn't a flashy, expensive bike. IT HAD BASKETS, FOR CRIMENY'S SAKE. i had had it for 8 years, since my last bike as stolen when i loaned it to mark to use at usc. it was a utilitarian wonder-meg just made me put lights on it a couple months ago for riding to work.
i just want it back- i don't want to get a new one.

That's crummy! I can't believe someone could cut those cables! I guess someone thought it was cool...or an less expensive alternative to buying gasoline!

Oh, Nate! I'm so sorry. What is WRONG with people, anyway? I'm angry and upset on your behalf. You most certainly should file a report like your mom suggests - you never know... :-(
oddly enough, there was a police car parked directly in front of where my bike had been. so, i was initially hopeful that maybe someone had gotten caught. but they were on a different call, i did file a report, and got a case number.
I hate thieves!!! My younger brother just had his truck stolen from his front yard. What's the matter with people?
