What measure a year.

There are many ways to measure a year, January first being only the tip of the iceberg. In our household the summer has always been very important. The medical education system, under which my dear wife labors, across the country uses July first as its official start date. So each year on 7/1 our lives change, sometimes more perceptibly than others. This year that is almost over, has been a good year. It was our 3Oth year on earth, and it was a year of research for my wife (instead of the usual chaos of residency). The chaos comes back in a week as she begins training med students and interns. It was a year that brought a surprising normalcy to our schedules that at times was a bit too normal. We ate dinner together a lot!
Meg also got her dream car, a miata. We moved into a "grown-up" apartment. We went to Hawaii, and had a pleasant little vacation. And with the exception of the loss of my grandfather, had a pretty good time all year.
I hope your year is going just a well, however you measure it.
